I was a HUGE fan of Affinity Designer until version 1.2.1. I should’ve known better than to believe that they would have the suite of apps delivered to me as soon as they did. The quality and performance of the suite is still relatively great, but it has to be said that it’s not going to be the best suite for the average user.

Not sure why there is so much hate for Adobe and how the software is perfect for the average designer, web or print, it does all of it. It has also been around for over 25 years and it still operates and updates and requires updates in just the same way as Photoshop. I guess Adobe is doing something wrong or they do not know how to market their software. I am sure they do know and will be working hard to rectify the situation. But in the mean time I use only one program, Adobe Photoshop CC.

Adobe has made a big mistake. Adobe used to have top notch response times to bugs. Its is a case of users have forgotten their good times. So the Affinity team is catching up. So I guess it would be good for the market share to bring out a new product. I am waiting patiently for Adobe to come up with an updated version of PS, AI, XD and other products.

I remember back then when they were releasing the first version of Affinity Designer I sat up and took notice, it was the first app to have the concept I wanted. Those days Affinity had what Adobe as not got yet. The idea of having a web app that could do everything. I have used Affinity software since version 1 and I have always recommended it to others. I recently had to use Illustrator to add one single piece of text and I could never have done it without it. I gave up after 20 minutes, that said I never use Affinity Illustrator, the tools are just not there. So thanks for this article. It is so important for Affinity to keep up the good work. The forums are amazing and I can ask questions and get answers in minutes. I use Affinity for photography as well as logos and web design. I have now used Affinity 4 times in the last 6 months and I have been very happy with all of them. I still use Photoshop but I still use Affinity when I need it. The only thing I would like to see is the development of some new plugins. This is a software that has been around for over 25 years. But like everything it has to keep improving.

Out of all of the Affinity alternatives I have tried, Affinity Designer has impressed me the most. I was actually looking for another vector-based drawing app, so I was more than happy to find it for free. At first I really struggled to find out what the button was supposed to do, but after a few hours of playing around, I got it down. I love how easy it is to customize, and I am really happy that it imports most of my files so it has been a breeze to work on my layouts. I have some vector shapes and text in mind, and the program has a great selection of shapes, which makes creating those shapes super easy. Even though it’s a very basic application, it manages to capture the excitement and speed I have come to love from Affinity.

I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and Affinity Designer. I’d like to move to Affinity, but I am terrified about the transitions.

Who Uses Affinity Designer and Why Is It Important?

I am a huge fan of all of the design concepts you see here on the website, and I use the tools to illustrate my own books. I have tested and used all of the tools that you will see in this blog post, and I think that it is the best free software for designers out there.

I decided to buy a license of Affinity Designer in 2015. I was introduced to the concept of vector graphics by the Japanese illustrator, Takao Kaneko. Since then, I decided to convert all my work in 3D and preserve it in vector format, using the power of Affinity Designer. I now work from both digital and analogue environments, and I use vector graphics for both tasks. I also teach in a design school, and I use Affinity Designer to teach basic principles of digital design to students of my school.

I now use Affinity Designer daily. From inking sketches to the final final finalized graphics, I can easily create an idea, digitize it, and transform it into a lovely piece of art.
